OUR VISION

To see our city strengthened and transformed by serving and blessing one another with no strings attached in the name of Christ.

The Hope and Love of Jesus can transform individuals and communities.  Where our churches do not or can not reach, we see authentic blessings and love building bridges for the Gospel to be proclaimed and the community to find purpose.

OUR WORK

We work to indentify needs within the Roland-Story School District, to connect those needs with compassion and resources, and to build relationships with those in our community who need them the most.

Our work is not intended to be an exchange of goods and services.  In Christ we are called to bless our neighbor without expectation of anything in return.  Through this mentality and work we can build relationships with our neighbors and community that will strengthen our town, our churches, and the Kingdom of God.

OUR MISSION

To act as the hands and feet of Jesus as we identify and fulfill the needs of our city’s people and organizations.

Jesus was not afraid to get his hands dirty.  He was willing to go places and talk with people that the “righteous” people shunned.  Being the hands and feet of Jesus means that we are willing to step into the discomfort, pain, or brokeness of our community and it’s people.  Not for the sake of ourselves, but for the sake of the Gospel.

PARTNERSHIP

Strengthening existing ministries & building new ones.

RScityserve is not intended to replace our current churches, ministries, or food pantries.  Rather, we hope to connect these existing ministries with the needs that they exist to meet.  Where our churches and residents have passions, we will connect those passions with the sometimes hard-to-see needs in our communities.  Partnership is key.  We can all grow and strengthen together!

Our Beliefs & Values

We are motivated by the Love of Christ to serve anyone as they have need.  We value radical grace, meaninful relationships, enstilling God-sized hope, and the perfect Love of God.

We value God’s work in the world and in our lives, unity in Christ, the love of Christ working in us and through us, the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit to usher in the Kingdom of God.

Who can help or be helped?

Our sphere is generally within the Roland-Story School District.  When accepting applications for needs, we will priortize those within the district according to available resources.

Anyone with a passion to serve and bless our neighbors will be welcome to jump into work projects and serve according to their gifts!  Let’s do far more together than we could hope to do alone!

“We become neighbors when we are willing to cross the road for one another. (…) There is a lot of road crossing to do. We are all very busy in our own circles. We have our own people to go to and our own affairs to take care of. But if we could cross the road once in a while and pay attention to what is happening on the other side, we might indeed become neighbors.”
